Who We Are

The Antietam-Conococheague Watershed Alliance (ACWA) is a community group passionate about protecting and restoring the Antietam & Conococheague Creeks as a healthy environment for recreation, ecological habitat, and improved water quality. ACWA became a not-for-profit organization in September 2007 to raise awareness among citizens of the Antietam watershed. In 2014 the Conococheague watershed was included to the Alliance.

Board of Directors

The organization is managed by volunteers elected by its members to serve as the Board of Directors. The Board has 11 adult Board positions and Student Board members. Board of Director responsibilities and eligibility are provided for adult members and student positions. Board members are recruited annually.

What We Do

Raising awareness about the importance of protecting and restoring Antietam & Conococheague Creeks and their tributaries is our goal as well as educating the community about the impacts we have on these watersheds. ACWA is a 100% volunteer organization with many initiatives for action, involvement, education, and outreach.
