Trees Not Trash Event Scheduled

Registration is now open for volunteers to help with a Trees Not Trash event in December. Over 25 trees will be planted in Hagerstown along Memorial Blvd, Summit Ave, and a few individual spots around the City. New tree sites will be pre-dug, but volunteers will need to prep the holes and ensure the tree are planted properly to have their best chance for survival. A handful of sites will require removal of smaller dead trees to replant with a new tree. ACWA trained Tree Stewards will be assisting during the event.

Many types of volunteers are needed to get this job completed quickly in cooler weather. From picking up trash, planting trees, or serving warm beverages, we depend on all our volunteers.

Work shifts are listed below, with an alternate work weekend provided in case of bad weather or if we need more time to get the trees in the ground.

  • Saturday 12/4 9:30am-12:00 & 12:30-3pm

  • Sunday 12/5 12:30-3pm

  • Alternate work dates are 12/11 & 12/12, same shift times
