Redbud Seed Group Collection Event with Scout Pack 252

As part of the Maryland 5 Million Tree Initiative, native tree seeds are needed to meet the goal of growing and planting 5 million trees by 2031. During these collection events, all fruits/seeds will be sent to the Maryland State Tree Nursery to support future tree plantings around the State.

  • Monday 9/28 from 6-7:30 pm to collect Redbud seeds at Byron Memorial Park at The Springfield Barn

  • Meet at the first parking lot off Springfield Lane, by the barn. Look for ACWA EVENT signs.Come when you can, leave when you must! Other collection events may be scheduled and will be updated here.

  • Collection supplies will be provided.

  • Please bring your own drinking water and bug spray.

Redbud seeds may be collected independently and dropped off at our drop off sites.

*Note these drop sites do NOT apply to Black Walnuts. Those can be dropped at Gambrill Park (FredCo) or WashCo Soil Conservation District office.
